Who is Vintage Indie? Where are you located?
Vintage Indie is a Rockin' Shoppin' Place for the Vintage Indie Addict. Highlighting Vintage Indie Designers & Store Owners, Vintage Inspirations, Vintage Styles, Techniques and old school antiques and collectibles. We are located on the Web at www.vintageindie.typepad.com
How did you come up with your business name?
Vintage Indie is two phrases that combine the two things I love Vintage and Independent business and design. Vintage Indie is commonly used to describe remade vintage fashion, DIY products and stores ran by individuals that sell vintage wares.
When and why did you decide to start your own business?
Vintage has always been my passion. The thing is, there wasn't a resource that put Vintage and Indie products and information all in one spot. A lot of my sponsors and shops that I feature say they didn't really fit in with most indie markets, because they are unique in their vintage category. I started it because, I wanted to share what I love with my readers and also to be a voice for the vintage & indie community.
What motivates you to keep your business going?
Motivation comes from the fabulous shop owners and my readers who love thrifting and vintaging just as much as I do. I get so excited when there is a new treasure to be seen, a new hand made creation to be loved and that makes me want to share.
Do you have something new or different that you are featuring on your website?
Vintage Indie is currently booking for our Holiday Gift Guide. This is going to be a fabulous guide for purchasing unique vintage and handmade products for the holidays - gifts to be treasured and enjoyed for a lifetime. Vintage Indie also has an awesome Swanky Swag Giveaway that is filled with vintage indie goodness every month, as well as special sponsor spectaculars (discounts for our readers only)
How do you juggle family and work at home?
Staying organized and prioritizing my home is my ultimate goal every day. I don't always make it, but it's the effort that counts for me.
What advice would you give to moms seeking to become a WAHM?
I think no matter what you what you want to do in life, you need to enjoy it. If you are working from home, make sure it's something you love. If you don't love what you are doing, it reflects back in your household and through your family members. If you love it, they'll love it.
