Who is "And Everything Nice?" Where are you located?
And Everything Nice is 'the' place for custom invitations, announcements, and accessories. We have the most beautiful, original, designs for every occasion! All of our products are offered through our website, www.and-everything-nice.biz and at several other online stores. I'm Laura, the owner/designer, I work out of my home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
How did you come up with your business name?
I named my business And Everything Nice after my daughter was born. The little rhyme "Sugar & Spice... And Everything Nice" kept going through my head... I dropped the Sugar & Spice and there you have it! When I launched my wholesale/drop shipping business I knew it had to be And PuppyDog Tails.
When and why did you decide to start your own business?
I have have always wanted my own business! Always, always, always!!! When I was pregnant with my daughter I quit my job a couple months before the end of my pregnancy with nothing to do but wait for her grand entrance, So I got to work! I started out on eBay. I had no clue of how to start a website or open a business but I knew how to use ebay. So I did what I knew. I learned so much in a short time. After about a year of exclusively selling on ebay I decided that I needed a website to take my business to the next level.
Do you have a particular product that's unique, a best seller or that you are promoting on your site?
I think all of my products are unique ;o) My favorite/best selling products are easily my photo cards. I started offering them in 2006 and I never expected they would do so well. I love, love, love seeing all of the photos of new babies, birthday boys & girls, brides & grooms, and beautiful families. I have so many designs this year that I love that I can't pick which one to use for my own cards!
How do you juggle family and work at home?
It's hard. I work in the morning before Isabelle (my daughter) wakes up... I work during her nap time... And then in the evening after my husband and Izzy go to bed. I work at night until I am done. I like to start off each day fresh, so it's typical for me to be working until 2 or 3 in the morning. (Right now its 12:44am!). Family time is precious and important, so to me its worth staying up until 2 am to be able to spend the next day playing hide and go seek with my little one!
What advice would you give to moms seeking to become a WAHM?
*Find something that you LOVE to do!
*Be original and find something that sets you apart from the competition.
*If you fail, learn from it, and try again!
