Interview with: Glamasaurus

Who is Glamasaurus? Where are you located?
Glamasaurus is me, Andreanna, I'm a new mommy currently live in Lenzburg, Switzerland.

How did you come up with your business name?

I was trying to come up with a business name for days. I wanted something that would get stuck in other people's heads. I have always been a bit of a wordsmith since I make up words all the time. I ended up getting glamasaurus stuck in my head. So that is how I became Glamasaurus.

When and why did you decide to start your own business and how did you get started?

I have always crafted but because of work, school and everything else I never had much time for it. When I moved to Switzerland I couldn't get a job because of the language barrier. I had so much free time I decided to start crafting again. I made some barrettes for myself and posted photos of them on my livejournal (lj). I began selling them to my lj friends who all wanted their own pair. After a year I decided to pester my husband into making me a website so I could sell my creations and that
is how glamasaurus.com was born.

What motivates you to keep your business going?
I get such a great feeling knowing people appreciate my creations enough to buy them. I am happy enough when someone looks at them or comments on them but to
actually sell them is a huge boost.

Do you have a particular product that's unique, a best seller, or that you are promoting on your site?
I am really proud of my collage items and all my donuts. I remember when I first moved to Switzerland and they had no donuts. It led me to make myself some clay donuts.

How do you juggle family and work at home?

Well I work at home exclusively part time. I always put family first. When I have a spare moment I will list new items on my site but if not I can always do it some other time. Right now my daughter is still a baby so I get to pack orders, update my site, and even make more products when she takes naps.

What advice would you give to moms seeking to become a WAHM?
Go for it. It is great that I can be not only home for my daughter but also run my
own business in my spare time. I know growing up I wished my mom would have been home more often so I am glad that I will be able to be home for my daughter.
