Who is Little Ladybug Designs?
Kim is the owner of Little Ladybug Designs. I specialize in designing custom announcements and invitations, personalized wall art, video montages and much more for any occasion. All designs can be customized to fit your needs at no additional cost! We can adjust the colors, fonts, wording, & photo layout in order for you to have the perfect announcement or invitation. The photo card are professionally printed with your choice of high quality professional photo paper or heavy weight card stock. Basic photo editing, envelopes, free digital proof are all included. We are located in New Jersey.

How did you come up with your business name?
My daughter who we adopted from Guatemala is an inspiration for this business. It is known amongst the adoption community that ladybugs bring good luck to adoptive parents to be waiting for their children to come home. We saw a couple of ladybugs during our adoption process and we heard good news soon after.


When and why did you decide to start your own business?
I started this business in November 2007. I have always loved designing and it is a great way for me to be able to stay home and raise our daughter.


How did you get started?
I designed our daughter's 2nd birthday invitations and got so many compliments and decided to design announcements and invitations for others. I created a video montage for our adoption journey and showed it to my family & friends at her 1st birthday party and everyone thought I should create them for others.


What motivates you to keep your business going?
Being able to stay home and raise our daughter is what motivates me to keep the business going. I truly enjoy designing cards and creating montages to help make memories last a lifetime for others.


Do you have a particular product that's unique?
All of my cards and video montages are unique and can be created for any occasion.

How do you advertise your business? Which methods proved successful/effective?
I network with other wahm's, do link exchanges, participate in having my products reviewed on blogs and websites. I put my logo on the back of my customer's cards so that whoever receive the card can look up my website.

How do you juggle family and work at home?
It is very important to me to put family first. I have always been a very hard worker. It takes a lot of organization, time management and determination to make it
work.

What advice would you give to moms seeking to become a WAHM?
Never give up on your dreams. It is a lot of work but if you love what you do it is so worth it to be home and see your children grow and develop.
