Who is Candles By Victoria? Where are you located?
Candles By Victoria is located in beautiful downtown Van, Texas at 209 W. Main St. We are a candle and gift shop. Candles By Victoria started in 2000 as an online business.


When and why did you decide to start your own business?
I always knew I would own my own business someday. I started Candles By Victoria in 2000 because after a year of testing I knew the candle formulation that I had created was outstanding and I had to share these candles with candle lovers everywhere!

What motivates you to keep your business going?
True love for what I do keeps me motivated and inspired every single day.


Do you have a particular product that's a best seller that you are promoting on your site?
I would say our Sampler Packs are our best sellers, but we have a brand new line called “Comfort Candles”. They are doing great and have been a huge hit.

How do you advertise your business? Which methods proved successful/effective?
I work on this non-stop. For me it is not one thing I do but a culmination of everything I do advertising-wise.


How do you juggle family and work at home?
Just like any other working mother, you get up everyday and just do it!

What advice would you give to moms seeking to become a WAHM?
Follow your dreams, find something you are passionate about, it is a cliché but if you love what you are doing, you will do well at it.

Being a WAHM for the past 15 years has been rewarding, owning my own business has been a challenge but it has been a wonderful journey and one I hope to continue to learn and grow from. Don’t ever give up on your dreams!
